The Busy "XMAS" week.

Always, every year, there is the busy Xmas week where everyone wants something done in time for Christmas but forgets that the post moves at a snails pace - putting more pressure on the photographer to deliver the expected quality in a fraction of the time!  The past week has seen me take baby Xmas photos,a few engagement ones and anything else that i've promised to do whilst pissed in the pub.  It seems that people know when to corner me?

Porthleven @ Night Panorama

I've not done much landscape photography recently mainly due to the crappy weather but last night the sky was clear (ish) and there was little wind so i dragged the GF out to shoot a panorama. 30 Minutes and 20 odd photos later i was done. The final image consisted of 14 separate photographs manually stitched together in photoshop. I initially thought that I would let PS handle the stitching but quickly realised that it didn't do a very good job - often the case when there are clouds or water involved! Originally there were phone wires running right across the photo from left to right which again makes it more difficult. 8 hours and gallons of coffee later it was finished. 15024px x 3653px 36.86MB JPEG

So i decided to do a few of Bex in the studio this week and also some natural light shots. Make up and hair by the very talented Madame Tashy.

Something different this week, firstly low key and secondly a male model, he's actually a mate of mine that after seeing the pictures of his sister that i did the week before and not wanting to be outdone, decided on stepping in front of the camera himself.

At the beach

A few at the beach this week with a model that i haven't worked with for a while.  She was the first girl i photographed when i started years ago and it was good to shoot her again.  There were a lot of male kayakers in the area just after we started shooting, probable the best stretch of water for that sort of activity eh?

Tylers Christening

A  quick job for a couple of mates who had their little boy Christened this weekend.  Churches are terrible venues for photographs and i regularly struggle to take shots around churches without graves in the picture.  Add to that the normally piss poor lighting in churches and it all becomes a bit of a bother!

Gwithian and nearly wet feet!

The weathers not been the best in Cornwall over the past few months but eventually it seems that mother nature is giving us a bit of a break.  I say a break where what i really mean is that there are days when it's not pissing it down.  The sunsets have been poor because of the lack of cloud but there are a few shots to be had now and again if you pick wisely.  I visited Gwithian the other night only to be met with a fast incoming tide and a very shallow gradient beach - generally ends in wet feet and i was lucky to escape this time :)

Officers Mess Summer Ball 2012

I had the pleasure of doing the photographs for the RNAS Culdrose Wardroom Summer Ball again this year.  It's always a long shoot starting at about 1800 and running into the small hours but well worth the effort and free beverages - as the alcohol flows the photos change!

Another Explore

This is from a recent shoot with Sophie that i did a while back but the original image is topless and i wanted to be able to display it without too much flesh on show.  It took me a while to decide what to do with it and it may get edited again in the future!  Flickr seems to like this girl as this is the third "explore" that I've had after posting photos of her.

Golden Rays

This is the first seascape that i've taken since May 21st due to the crap weather that we're experiencing.  The last time that i went out i took the new girlfriend and she made the almost relationship breaking mistake of running through the pristine white sand at Sennan, god bless photoshop!  This time i thought that i would teach her a lesson after she threatened to do it again.Her mind was changed after seeing the 20ft drop into the ocean :) Not sure which  prefer of the 2, the cropped or un-cropped version?

Sophie

I've photographed Sophie a few times before but she has recently changed her style and exposure.  Here are a few from the shoot, the first one was featured on Flickr's "EXPLORE" frontpage 9th July 2012 and the second on the 11th July 2012.

Summer?

Porthleven is not a stranger to weather like this but the top shot was taken in December, the bottom one i took yesterday 07/06/2012!  Seems like the good old Cornish weather is having a laugh again?

Sennan Cove

A quick trip to Sennan tonight because i haven't been out in ages and i was missing taking some shots.  What was an average evening stayed that way and i only bothered to take a handful of shots before getting pissed off and going home.  The best is shown below:
