Winter starts and so does the real photography!

It's now my favourite time of year to take photographs even though the weather makes it more challenging i find that winter gives some of the best colours and skies.

Start of the heather

Every year around mid August the Cornish coastline is swamped with a sea of purple as the heather starts to appear and this year is no different.  I adds another level to an already breathtaking coastline for the short period of time that it is in flower.

Summer?

Well it started off ok but the Summer still hasn't really arrived here in Cornwall.  A couple of good days followed by dull overcast, rinse, repeat!  I've really lost my enthusiasm to get out and take photos at the moment, not sure if it's the weather or some personal issues that are going on but i have been out a few times over the past weeks.

The Secret Spot

It's been a while since i last went out to take photographs and to be honest the weather has been shocking in the first quarter of the year for landscapes.  I did a very small wedding at the start of the year which i really enjoyed considering that it was only me and the bride and groom.  Hopefully as the evenings start to draw out there will be more opportunities.

Been a while

Well whilst finishing my degree i haven't managed to do much photography except the odd couple of jobs and a few outings at the last minute.

FOrks

This week enabled me to photograph something that i haven't before - lightning!  We don't get much of it over here in the UK and what we do get is normally sheet lighting not the more photograph friendly fork stuff.  Sitting at home watching the lightning storm going on i suddenly though "why am i not out capturing this"?

Re-run

This week i decided to try to re-do a photo that i took a long time ago.  I knew that the previous photo was taken at midday but i wanted to try to get a similar one at sunset.  The area that i originally took it form had unfortunately fallen into the sea some time ago by the looks of it so i had to re-evaluate what i was going to do.  In the end i decided to move along the cliff a bit until i came to an area that would suffice.  The resulting photo is posted below:
